Catherine J. Perez has been practicing in the field of business immigration law since 2021, having focused her practice on supporting corporate clients within the financial services sector with immigrant and nonimmigrant processes. Prior to joining D&S, Catherine practiced as a business immigration attorney at a large global corporate immigration firm, representing corporate and individual clients, including Fortune 500 companies as well as small and medium-sized organizations. Catherine’s experience includes preparing a wide variety of employment-based immigration matters, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, E-3, EB-1A, EB-1C, PERM Labor Certifications, and employment based permanent residence petitions. She also has experience preparing DACA applications.
Catherine earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from the City University of New York (CUNY) – Baruch College. She later earned her law degree from Brooklyn Law School, where she served as the Chair of the Asylum Pro Bono Project, responsible for coordinating trips to the U.S./Mexico border to provide immigration consultation services, under supervision, to individuals impacted by the Remain in Mexico policy or seeking to claim asylum in the U.S. In addition, Catherine served as a NYS Pro Bono Scholar, through which she completed a semester-long placement at Catholic Charities of NY supporting the Special Projects Unit assisting with SIJS, Asylum and U Visa application case preparation.
